Whatever it is that you are embarking on that’s always the best place to start in my opinion. The beginning. Then just follow the path, in my case, the path to financial independence and eventually not being tied to a job to earn my income. It’s a long journey but it’s one worth starting. I’m often writing emails that cover the same points over and over again, so I thought that today I’d put that information into a blog post for all of the people wondering where to start and how to string all the bits of information you have learned about money into a cohesive order.
I might as well cut to the chase. I loved this book! None of our lives are linear, we all have twists and turns along the way and everyone is on a different journey. For the author of this book, Scott Rieckens, one big fork in his road came when he stumbled upon the concept of FIRE while driving to work listening to a podcast.
I have fielded the question “why don’t you buy a Lifestyle Property?” more times than I can count. I actually have this cracking rural lifestyle on 900m² because I live at the end of short cul de sac in town. I could have bought a 10 acre plot on the outskirts of town but I would be stretching myself financially (and physically) to do it.
I received an email in August from a woman who finds herself moving on from a 20 year marriage. She is discovering the freedom of now going it alone, but the journey is certainly not an easy one.
I have recommended this book to a lot of people and everyone I recommend this book to loves it! And more importantly they act upon the advice inside the book. You need to add this book to your reading list.
Being better with your dosh is all about education. You can sit down with your bank and they will educate you, that’s a surety, but is it the type of education you should be seeking out? So, this week I wanted to share with you a book I’ve been reading from a writer I have followed for a while.
So, it’s a different kind of blog for me this week. I still got up bright and early each morning and instead of researching things I wanted to write about I fell down the rabbit hole of the internet instead. And what exactly did I get out of a week of Google searches? Education.
